Pivotal do not rely on the one off training day to effect change. Our training is made sustainable by flexible follow up training using a range of different strategies: E-mentoring, one to one coaching, self training manuals, audio seminars, online resource library, free tips, teaching resources and Behaviour surgeries.

The training helped to refresh the skills I once had but had begun to doubt...  I had been thinking of leaving teaching recently because it was beginning to feel staid and flat.  This has given me the buzz I needed; thanks very much.”

"I came away from this course brimming with ideas and they've nearly all proved their worth back in school... Overall, this was one of the best courses I have been on.  The atmosphere was relaxed and productive, the venue was excellent and we had lunch in a restaurant instead of eating the usual soggy sandwich. Above all, the strategies we learnt have genuinely made a difference in the classroom."

'Course of the Week' Column, TES Magazine, March 2008.

"I've done fourteen years in the TA infantry, fifteen years on building sites and now I teach kids from deprived areas of Derbyshire how to become bricklayers. I thought I had it sussed using military training techniques and common sense - remain cool, be fair, firm and friendly, see things on the learners' level. I didn't realise there was so much more that could be done, and for so little cost in effort. Great seminar!"

Derek Stanton, Lecturer, South East Derbyshire College.

“A brilliant, valuable experience. I cannot express highly enough the effect the training has had and how it has changed my life in the classroom."

Professor Tim Brighouse

"Helpful advice on involving parents and managing extreme behaviour...Sensible, consistently practical and reassuring"

TES Review, May 2007

"This book is comprehensive and practical and provides teachers with immediate help in dealing with disruptive behaviour... [Paul Dix] manages to address the issues and offer workable solutions that leave you wondering why you hadn't tried it before; such is the simplicity of his advice...This book offers a concrete plan of action based on techniques of self evaluation and social interaction. This is highly recommended reading for NQTs and has much to offer even the seasoned practitioner; it provides simple clear advice on how to be the 'best' kind of teacher."

Gillian Long, TES Website, Jan 2008
