Pivotal Hosts TeachMeet Buckinghamshire
We are pleased to announce that Pivotal Education is hosting a TeachMeet in Chesham, Bucks this September.
Learn something new, be amazed, amused and enthused.
This is an informal gathering of those curious about teaching and learning. Anyone can come and share great ideas they've trialled in their classrooms. Education professionals from all sectors are welcome to take part.
The main part of TeachMeet is hearing stories about learning, from teachers. This is not an event to present about a product or theory - this is a chance for teachers from all types of establishments to hear ideas from each other – to share good practice. It is about being engaged and inspired by our immediate colleagues and making connections with other educators.
So how does a TeachMeet work?
A TeachMeet is an organised but informal meeting for teachers to share good practice, practical innovations and personal insights in teaching. Participants volunteer to demonstrate good practice they've delivered in classrooms. Each presenter is given just 3 minutes to speak. On the evening, the names of the presenters are drawn out of a hat in a random order. The idea is that you leave at the end of the evening buzzing with a whole range of new ideas to try with your own students.
I’m interested in presenting. What can I talk about?
There are no restrictions placed on what the presenters can talk about. You can share an activity, demonstrate technology you have used in the classroom or discuss strategies and teaching techniques. The only restriction is that you have just 3 minutes.
Do I have to present?
No, you can come and just watch, ask questions and chat to other teachers if you prefer.
