Safeguarding TrainingPivotal’s strength lies not soley in the content of the training but in the expertise of our training team. Pivotal trainers have spent their careers working with the most vulnerable children and adults: Residential Care, SEBD schools, Referral and Inclusions units, Young Offenders Institutions and some of the most challenging urban schools and colleges. Our trainers have the breadth of experience to deliver training that succinctly translates policy to practical, tailored correctly to your needs. Pivotal trainers meet regularly to share current practice, dissect new legislation and discuss case studies of best practice.

Our training includes

  • Translation of legislation into practical steps for delegates
  • Clear guidance on preparing for OFSTED inspections
  • Best practice examples of implementing effective safeguarding procedures tailored to your specific sector
  • Updates on Ofsted’s new arrangements for the inspection of Safeguarding in schools and colleges
  • Issues of governance and accountability in the safeguarding children agenda
  • Sensible, safe guidance in response to delegates questions

Pivotal ‘Safeguarding’ courses are designed to improve the awareness of all those working with, are responsible for or are coming in to regular contact with children.

We provide Level 1, 2 and 3 training aimed at the education sector.

Pivotal Training is always in line with the National Training Awards Framework for Learning. In addition our Safeguarding training follows LSCB (Local Safeguarding Children Board) Guidelines:

  • Target groups are identified and links are made to course aims, outcomes and LSCB competencies
  • Course design and content meet the requirements and are fit for purpose
  • There is a clear selection and monitoring process for trainers
  • A transparent evaluation is in place
  • There are post course administration processes in place
  • There is a process to review the course

The training was very useful and I now feel I am more aware and have increased knowledge and understanding about safeguarding. The trainer, Miller Thomson, was knowledgeable and passionate about his subject and presented what is a very sensitive area in a good way. The course was well planned and delivered throughout the day, we got through a lot in what was really just a few hours. Thank you.
