If we allow students to leave school without being able to use an extended formal vocabulary and communicate with precision we fail them. They are judged on their speech immediately. We have a responsibility to teach our students how to really play the game that society presents us with. We may not agree with the game, we may want to change it but until it fundamentally changes we need to teach our students exactly how to play it. To play it well. To play it better than students who compete for the same opportunities.

If you want to raise attainment in Speaking and Listening then you need an institutional approach. Tinkering with lesson plans is not enough. Pivotal will engage colleagues in creating a simple, consistent plan for sustainable change. Our trainers will leave colleagues with a clear understanding of principle and best practice.
